351 Big or Small block

I have a 67 mustang GTA with a 289, and I want to swap in a 351 with a 4-speed. I was thinking of going with the big block 351 Cleveland, but I still want the car to handle well on the road. Would it be too much? Would a small block 351 be able to compare HP wise? Just looking for suggestions.

Re: 351 Big or Small block

with the aftermarket they have for the windsor engine ,you can make more streetable power with that engine .. a good set of aluminum heads and a cam can make you 400hp easy
the Cleveland was a high rpm motor with bad oiling ( have a lot of experience with them from back in the day ) ,the W ENGINE Holds up better and has better low to mid-range grunt ,witch is what you'll need on the street ...
