Performance drum brake shoes?

I have a slammed, huge tire 302 powered 66 trans am style coupe with the larger drum brakes from the 390 cars and station wagons. (I've got to have the classic drum brake look w/huge Torque Thrust D's. I need therapy). It does stop fast in a straight line without much dancing around (providing I keep doing heavy squats at the gym....non power master cylinder). I would like to know, though, if anyone knows of high performance brake shoes (sintered bronze, kevlar etc.) that might help my Fred Flintstone stop light act. Thanks.

Re: Performance drum brake shoes?

Hi, I looked for high perf. shoes before redoing my rears (67 289 coupe 4wh drum nopwr), I ended up getting Raybestos PG Plus riveted shoes, they were the best I could find reasonable (I found ceramic for $255!). I think I found others when I searched but they were still >$150 for a set of shoes...if I was going to spend that much on f/r shoes I'd just convert to power disc.

I don't know about this but performance & drum brakes sounds like an oxy-moron to me
