Knob next to emergency brake?

On 1965 mustangs, what is the little knob next to the e brake for? Can't find it on the Internet anywhere and I'm afraid to touch it. Lol.

This is what it should be attached to stock... I think. I haven't been under a 65 dash in over 30 years.

I own a 66 if that is for the air vent, where would the choke be if there is one?

Beav looks like the right one. The knob in that picture is exactly like on my mustang. My heat doesn't work so that's why I didn't know what it did.

Your correct. I was thinking w/o looking. I went out and looked. The choke is on the right of the column under dash.
