302 timing set on standard 289

Is there any advantages to doing this conversion, or will I just get excessive turning torque on my crankshaft? If so are there any performance gains atleast?

I've never heard of such a "conversion".
At any rate there are no benefits that I'm aware of and likely the 289 & 302 share some of the same timing sets depending on the years of the sets used.

The standard 289 and 302 before 1981 share everything except pistons crank and rods. The only thing that change was the imbalance from the 28oz to 50oz from 81 up.
