Faux gas cap idea on 65

I have a fender mounted le mans cap. Had an idea to do a modern touch and add a 2005 rear gas cap emblem. Don't need the trunk key on it I have remote release so I'm filling it it. Don't know if I'm going to like it when it's all said and done but if not it'll make a cool emblem for someone in the end. Do you think it'll add a little modern class or am I'm crazy. Just curious to see what y'all have to say

Got the hole pretty close to smoothed out. Still some sanding to do. And that's primer, it won't be black, more like a natural aluminum type color

It should look good when done, but on the car Idk yet we will see. Trying to get the sanding and then I'll spray it. Just something fun to mess with when home and bored

B/w I love your car, I just saw your pics.! That is one sick looking coupe!! Before I got my 67 I was 2 seconds away from buying a 65 fb gt 350, red. The deal fell through, but I still love that body style. Looks like a pretty serious setup you got there......what have u done to the car?

The coupe has 4 inch flares all the way around gt350 front valance and hood scoop, color matched bumper, complete suspension rebuild with high rate coils and springs, 289 bored 40 over, some porting done and long tubes too true dual. Interior all red with racing seats and just a ton of other stuff. The fastback is all that's on my mind now

Whatever you did, it looks great! If I had to buy a coupe that's what I'd do to it. But deep down inside I knew if I did I would keep looking for a fb. Either way your car is amazing...and prob fast too!!

Yea it's nice, my fb will be 10 times as nice I think, after this fastback I'll look for another to do a widebody, may have already found one

Heres it on the fastback. I'm going to repaint it though. Need a higher solid shine to match the tail light bezels

Thank you guys. Yea it turned out pretty well, I don't like how the paint turned out though. Might make another one or sand and repaint again
