My new baby conv 66

I just got my dream car.
A mustang 1966 convertible emberglo color.
It is beautiful. But I dont have a fricking clue of the needed maintenance!!!
(I am a girl) don't judge me so harsh.
How often and what arethe most important things I need to do for my car?
It runs great and want to keep it that way.

Help

It is my first. It was always my dream car. It is an I6. Any idea where can I find maintenance schedule or some help. I am driving it everyday to work. 34 miles a day total.

Very nice! I too have a 66 convertible with the I-6... Have you checked your antifreeze to see if it has been good as well as the transmission fluid? I'd start there as well as getting the oil changed and looking for leaks...

What I did with my 67fb, was order an reproduction owners manual. More for personal reasons than maintenance. But I know you can find complete maintenance books for your make and model mustang online. I spend a lot of time on eBay doing research and comparing prices. Just search 66 mustang manual.

Awesome! How are you liking your mustang?
I am going to start by checking those points you gave me. Thanks!
To all....
My brakes are a little hard. Did u change to disk brakes?
Also what do u recommend me for stereo and speakers? I dont want to ruin my car with a new stereo so I am looking for something that can be hidden or something...ideas?
Alarm. I checked on lojack but it's too expensive. Right now I am using a club thing. But I still get worried. :/
Too many questions for too many experts.

Thanks you all.

Lol !! Speaking of radios, I just bought a new radio for mine. A great new system that looks like the old school AM but all the new features. USB, mp3's it's got about 240watts and fits in just like the old one. Hardly any mods to do. Again I found it on eBay and I manage to find a company from Calgary (Canada) to ship me one to Montreal! All for about 250$. It looks real good. I'll get you the name and brand if u want.

Hey mustana, here's a link for the radio, now it's the one from Calgary but at least you'll have some reference. I'm sure you'll find it cheaper in the us! http://www.themustangshop.ca/product/1517273/300041

It's the exact same one I bought and I'll post some pics when I'm done with the work. Good
Luck !!

Nice ride... Read through this forum, you will pick up a lot....
Check out the mustang doctor's site... He has a ton of good videos...and information.
There are a lot of retro radios out there... Search around... Not hard to find.
Find a good mechanic you can trust if you don't want to do it yourself...
If you do, get a shop manual.... And this is a good Q&A place for specific questions...

I love my emberglow. So original! Where do you live? What part of Texas? We are just restoring little by little but having lots of fun.
