Question How To Use Cleco Fasteners

Hi Guys (Newbie Here)

I'm faburcating some panel on my '66 Convert. And I'd like to know how to use CLECO FASTENERS

Any info will be greatly appreciated. At best pics would be GREAT

I'm going to try and over-lap some sheet metal and then cut a center line in the metal to make a perfect butt joint.

And I was told to use Cleco Fasteners.

Thanks Guys
GOD BLESS

What type do you have? are they the screw type or the type you need the pliers for?
Basically you drill a hole through both sheets of metal, insert the cleco fastener and it holds them together

re: How To Use Cleco Fasteners

are you doing body repair???i never use any type of clip because it causes the metal to warp, i cut the metal to perfectly fit the hole and slip in a side and tack, then work around until the metal is fully welded flush, then i grind it all smooth and you cant tell its patched. on areas where a pinch seam is, i use 1/8" self tapping screws then after i get everything tacked, i weld the screw holes up for extra strength.

If its cosmetic welding I use these:

If its non cosmetic (floor pans etc) then i use the cleco fasteners in the pic above. You are going to need a decent fit before you put in the fasteners otherwise its not going to weld properly. If you have a gap between the two pieces of metal I drill a hole and use a nut and bolt to draw it together then tack it in place.
