Help

So I have the 3 speed automatic, and I was pulling away from my buddies house and I didn't floor it but I wasn't pulling away gently. my car felt like it ran over somthing so I looked, and nothing was there. it did this a few times. I decided to open my hood and try moving the car to see If it was in the engine and to my surprise my engine lifted 7'' out of its place and slammed by down. what should I do????

Motor mounts? I'm not sure if it can lift that far out but it's a starting point.

Yup, that would be my guess. I'm not sure if you can get a replacement very quickly. Hopefully the cushion or rubber mount is still there and you can just pickup a new nut and bolt that will work at your local hardware. Here is what they might look like, depending on your year.

Does sound like a motor mount. Check to see if the nut is still on the bottom in the k member or see if the bolts are still in the block holding the motor mount. If they are still there you may have a torn motor mount.

Kind of easy to change out if you have an engine hoist to hold the motor up.

Replacing motor mounts is fairly easy and cheap do that and go from there
