Found that my point set has the two screws and the screws go into a plater in the distributer. The holes in the plater are stripped and I can't find a replacement plater, any recommendations?

Re: Points

Buy yourself an electronic conversion kit, or pickup an old Dis. I don,t think you find anyone to rebuild them, unless you go full restore.

Or, you could retap to the next size and get new screws.

If you want to go with electronic, Pertonics electronic ignition conversion is about $80.

Mike is right, just don't let any metal slivers drop in. If you get the pertronix you still have to screw it on to the plate. Duraspark is the other option. Our old engines don't support distributorless ignition (DIS). I actually bought an HEI type from Davis Unified Ignition. If you can stand that much Chevy on a Ford engine!
