Kick down linkage on a c4

When I bought my car there was no kick down linkage I picked up cj pony pars kick down cable kit (the one that's like 6" long) and I was wondering how that hooks up and it that's all I need... It's a 68 coupe with a 289 edelbrock carb and a c4

You should have something like the long arm going down from your accelerator pedal. The cable links from there to the kickdown lever.

Did you replace a manual trans with an auto? The lever on the accelerator pedal should be there if originally an automatic.

Not the pedal but the throttle rod(don't know what to call it)

Don't you just hate the crap you have to fix, that someone else changed out. I have the same issues with my 68, every time I work on it,I find some hack job.
