Kickdown linkage

Will the factory kickdown linkage run off the accelerator rod work with hooker longtube headers? I have a 68 with a 289 and a c4

I have a 302 with Hooker long tube headers and although I'm not using one, it looks as though there is plenty room for the kick down linkage.

Ok that's what I thought but the accelerator rid in my car
