The car is beautiful and only a few rust spots. It also need a new paint job, but it's like an aqua color, which I'm told is the second rarest color code for the time period.

Coupe $5,000
Fastback $6,500

Variables are engine, interior, where has it been, etc...

Depends on the model and options, but I would say anywhere from $5000 to $20000 if its in good original shape. A rare model or a HiPo 289 will fetch more if its original.

Rust can be a bad thing, depending on where it is. Look in the trunk and on the underside of the floor boards. If rust is there, run away!!!

Also you can tell what color the car originally was by looking at the plate on the driver's side door. (If the plate isn't there, you can do some more research on the VIN).

BODY COLOR CODES FOR A 1964 1/2 AND 1965 MUSTANG
A = Raven Black
B = Pagoda Green (1964 1/2 only)
C = Honey Gold
D = Dynasty Green
F = Guardsman Blue (1964 1/2 only)
H = Caspian Blue
I = Champagne Beige
J = Rangoon Red
K = Silver Smoke Grey
M = Wimbledon White
O = Tropical Turquoise
P = Prairie Bronze
R = Ivy Green
S = Cascade Green (1964 1/2 only)
U = Sunlight Yellow
X = Vintage Burgundy
Y = Skylight Blue (1964 1/2 only)
Y = Silver Blue
Z = Chantilly Beige (1964 1/2 only)
3 = Poppy Red
5 = Twilight Turquoise
7 = Phoenician Yellow
8 = Springtime Yellow

The color doesn't factor into the price as much as the original engine and transmission, so don't get suckered in that it's a rare color. Do your research before thinking about buying a 65 Mustang...it may save you 1,000's of dollars.

if it has a 302 in it, it's not the original motor so it's worth a whole lot less and just because the paint code is rare doesn't mean it's desirable. There's a reason nobody ordered it in the first place.
