Can you interchange/swap heads in a 1965 mustang with one another from the same engine. E.g. could I swap one on the left with one on the right? Or do they each have a precise fit?

I assume you have a 289 v8, and yes you can swap from side to side. They are both the same , When you sent them out for machining and they come back , they are not marked left or right , so don`t worry , be happy

Typically heads are interchangeable from one side to the other, but I'd check for accessories and whatnot that prevent it from being swapped over.

If there's nothing specifically identifying on either head, you should be good.

260 cid heads are interchangeable, also 289 heads , put them on torque them down adjust the valves if you have solid lifters .
