I'm currently fixing up a 1973 Ford Mustang Fastback. Now this is a pretty generic question, I don't know a lot about cars. We had a battery charger hooked up because it was dead and we tried to start it. This time it tried to start but wouldn't turn over. Now I think this is a problem with the starter but I'm not sure. Is it the starter or is it something else?
Use process of elimination, use a screw driver to jump the solenoid, then use to jump the starter. You do this by crossing the positive and negative with the screwdriver. Could be the starter could be the solenoid or the battery or just a bad ground. Check the wiring to the starter to see is they are all tight and hook up. check the battery terminals make sure they are clean and snug
