How does the hood of a 1967 Ford F-100 open?

Is there a lever inside, like nowadays, or do you reach under the front of the hood for a button?

there is a lever just right of center under the front of the hood.
on most of these old fords you usually have to "pound" on the hood while pulling the release lever.
