1972 Chevelle or 1993 Mustang?

1972 Chevelle
$2000
454 motor
runs well
not ss
needs full restoration minus engine

1993 Mustang
$800
5.0
LX
AOD is out beautiful body interior semi clean

caught up in between the 2 im leaning alittle more towards the chevelle but if i go for it i want to invest about $8000-$10000 i want it to be close factory condition. for the mustang im looking into spending about $4000 for cobras, leather interior, sound, slap stick since it has a auto tranny and juice up the engine a bit

not asking for company favoritism because i love both ford and chev + their both classics and both is a hell of a deal and i just need a daily car which would you guys pick?

chevelle hands down heres why: 454 has so many more options, with out the headache of any computer to limit you. You can adjust the powertrain to so many different options if a tranny would go out, plus if you broke something parts would be plentiful.

93 mustang : yeah it has the 5.0 but compared to the 454 in a classic chevelle? no comparison, especially to the 454. The 5.0 has a lot of options too, and many of them are great, but in the 93 pony your room is limited under the hood.

I was not in love with any of the smog equipment used on cars from 1972 to 1985. The engines are hard to maintain, and lacking in power when compared to the EFI units post 1985.
The 5.0 will be easier to maintain and yield better fuel economy, parts are plentiful. Not to mention the number of options out there to keep it looking stock but performing better then some cars costing 80 K US dollars.
Yes I am a Ford fan and GM hater, but there is a reason.

The Chevelle but make sure there is know rust problems in the chassis or body, forget the mustang, better still perhaps hold of a while pay a little more for 69 or 70 Chevelle, they are better models you will never loose on these.

The chevelle with the 454, they great cars and its real steel that your gambling your life on not plastic. Go with the chevelle if you have the cash to restore it. the stang would be a better daily driver in my honst opinion.

Going with the Chevelle on this one. I have always loved them and I think they are far less common than the Mustang.
