What part is missing? 1978 mustang II Ghia.?

So my husband let his 1978 Mustang sit for a really long time and now that we have money to finish working on it we took it in for inspection. Our mechanic called and said the E-Brake is not working b/c there is a part missing. He does not know what this part is. He said there is a part that should hook on to the E-Brake cable and that it belongs between the steel rod that goes towards the back of the car and the E-Brake cable. Can someone please tell me what this part is? It's a 1978 Mustang II Ghia.

I would contact a Mustang Restoration expert in your area and see what they have to say. Either that or you could try and find an old Haynes Manual for it and get a blown up image of the E-Brake system.

Hope this helps, Good Luck!
