1973 Mustang oil pressure dropping to zero while in gear.?

I was going to take it out for a drive today and as soon as I put it in gear, my oil pressure drops immediately to zero. I just changed the oil and with the dipstick it says that it is full. Any idea on what could be the problem? When I put it back into park it does to normal again.

replace the oil pressure switch and see what happens before you worry about anything else.

change the oil sending unit first. if it still does it then it could be a weak oil pump or a rod bearing.
