1976 mustang II fusible link burnt out?

I found a yellow fusible link wire burnt out on my wiring harness in my engine compartment and i don't know were it came from could some one give me a hand

that's interesting even more so if it was not connected to anything? usually it is connected tightly on both ends, and would be unlikely to just fall out have you been to a shop recently? often times they are in a starter relay as a protection, and they do go bad occasionally but would be unlikely to fall out.
