1977 mustang II was there a factory v8 option in the 77 ghia?

im getting a 1977 ghia it has a 5.0 i was wondering if it was put in the car it has a v with a 8 over it on the side of the car and if there is a factory v8 what kind of rear end come in them and did they ever make a posi rear end for the mustang II factory

Other than the optional V8 engine, the car underwent minor changes. The Ghia received opera windows and a padded vinyl half-top. In mid-year, a 2.3 L "MPG" model was added, featuring a catalytic converter and a 3.18:1 rear-axle ratio (standard was 3:40:1) to claim EPA-version economy estimates of 23 mpg-US (10 L/100 km; 28 mpg-imp) in the city and 34 mpg-US (6.9 L/100 km; 41 mpg-imp)
Enough parts back then to make it posi read end from dealer but not sure about factory.

yes there was a v8 option, the 302, later called 5.0..Most Fords had a posi option..

contact a local ford dealership with the car VIN # and they can tell u what the factory equipmeent was.

For the best answers to all, take your VIN to the Ford parts dept. From this they can evan tell you where and the week it was made.
