my 1968 restoration

i have been on here for a while and never shared my story so i figured i will now. my parents went half's with me for my mustang was i was 14 years old my freshmen year of high school. i got it for 800$ after be bought out on a ford truck that was for sale down the street. i fount this gem on cl and after a couple visits we brought her home. this car was destined for the junk yard as you can see in the pictures there was alot of rust. floors, battery apron, lower rear quarter panels there was even bullet holes in it. so after i got it home my grandpa and I got the motor running and found out it had a bent push rod. i tore down the whole motor and trans and rebuilt them my-self iv done all the work my self except twice when i couldn't get my transmission to work and when i found out that the roof had been pushed in about 2 in in the driver corner and had a body shop push it out and do a little bondo work. everything else i have done. from paint to interior to replacing the floors. i plan on putting a v8 in eventually but for now im getting ready for it. 5 lug conversion stiffer shocks and disk breaks for the front. i have used every penny and birthday/Christmas presents iv got over the past four years for this car and im proud of it. iv learned a lot over the years iv been working on it. im really blessed to be able to have this chance to build my own car. the way i want it. im only 18 now but im happy to help anyone with questions they have about restoring cars. if been lucky enough to experience this first hand so im happy to share what i know.

Very nice project. Doing it on your own helps to appreciate what you have. The experience and the memories are priceless. I have spent countless hours in the garage with my dad and grandpa. My best memories of my grandpa were of him and I under the hood of a car.
Your doing great. The car looks amazing. Good to see you young guys still doing restorations.
