Hey guys I narrowed my explorer 8.8 axel with 3.73 gears and 31 spline this weekend. It was fun and fairly easy. I'm also installing a heidts 4 link with the axel in my 68 fastback. Here's some pics.

The explorer axel pinion is offset by 2.75" to the passenger side. In order to get it to line up in the center of my car I had to cut 2.75" off of the drivers side and reweld. A little trick I learned from the jeep guys. I paid 250 bucks for the axel at my local scrap yard, the axel is 31 spline, 3.73, with posi straight from ford. Pretty cheap alternative compared to going with a 9"
