What do you think this car is worth??

Hello wanted some advice and to see what everyone thinks. I'm looking to buy this old mustang. This car is totally restored. What do you think it's worth. It's a 1968 gt500 tribute car. With a 302 v8 with 700 miles on it as well as a brand new motor. Not sure what its worth I have never looked at an old car before.

$12-15k? I saw similar ones at Mecum go for around that. The resto-mod of it actually lowers the value even though I'd rather have a resto-mod than a restored one lol.

Yea he is asking 15k I just never have looked at one before and this one has be done very nicely.

It looks like a nice car. The phrase fully restored means different things to different people though. There seems to be a lot of flat black underneath with new shocks and mufflers. As far as a GT500 tribute goes, it has Shelby side scoops and GT500 stripes. Otherwise, it is a very nice coupe with stock front end and a 302. That being said, low to mid teens is still probably a good price if the suspension and interior are in really good shape.

Yea he said the interior was just redone, all the brakes were redone. New tires ect. He said everything was replaced or updated. I just have never looked at these older cars and don't know what to look for and the price range.

Do those kinds of cars have tight steering and braking. I have never rode or driven in one before.

He probabably couldn't hide rust through with paint, but it looks better black than with surface rust. Looks like the leaf springs were painted which is no problem. But, did he paint over dry, cracked bushings, or put in new ones?
They steered bad and the brakes were worse. Has he put aftermarket disc brakes on? Rack and pinion conversion fixes the steering numbness.
Don't get me wrong, I love the old ones, you just have to know what to expect.
There are some threads that can tell you where to look for hidden rust.

Sounds good. You need to drive it and see if you fall in love with it. Depending on your budget, you might want to try to talk him down from $15k though. Almost nobody expects to get what they are asking for a car. I wouldn't lowball him too much though. If you are not comfortable with something near his asking price ($12500 or so?) it probably won't do much good to try. Have you had a chance to ask who did the work? If he did, how confident are you that he knows what he's doing? I don't think he could have paid for all that work and then sell it that low.

Yeah the only problem it's in Florida and I'm in Maryland it's on eBay. I just think it's bad *** looking lol. I have never nor my family owned an old muscle car so I don't know how it's going to drive. I like tight cars.
