Bringing her home 8-4-2013

Picking her up yesterday with my Fiancee who bought the car for me and my soon to be Father-in-law who took the picture for us. We made good time there and back only 4 hours round trip, The only problems we had were getting the car started after
it had been sitting in his driveway for 3 years not running, but we did get it running, and then the fact that the engine would lose power and stall everytime we started getting it up the ramps for the trailer.

Now that she is home I have a few minor repair jobs to do on her then she should be running pretty good.
>Replace the valve cover seals
>oil change
>check spark plugs and regap them
>check brake pads, discs, drums and shocks
>remove and clean the fuel filter (its an after market one thats supposedly reusable, and prolly need the filter itself changed)
>check for a possible radiator hose leak
>replace the valve stem on the rear driver tire
>replace the vacuum line
>have the engine mounts checked they may be bad
>A ton of body work mostly on the driver side

There is also some minor repair work on the interior I need to do, what is everyones views on the seat, re upholstering them vs just buying new ones? mine are pretty torn up.

The more you dig into the car the longer your list will grow. Maybe that is the fun of it. I say redo your seats!

Oh I have 3 lists, that was my 'this is whats needed to drive her now' list which hasn't grown any yet, then there is my 'whats needed to drive her now and look good list' which has grown little since I brought her home and my 'what I'm gonna do when I'm ready to take her off the road as a vintage and do a full restore list' which is growing by the second!! fortunately at this point she is running and is drivable and I am only in $100. Rofl I'm in for the cost of the gas to go pick her up only my Fiancee is in for $1000 .

Found out today that my Speedometer, tach and tempurature guages don't work, any ideas why the tach would be showing it idles at 1200 when it sounds more like 600?
