Engine problems ( thankful for any help )

I have a 1965 mustang 289 v8. I haven't started it for 2 weeks. I charged it and went to start the engine. I instead got a strange low pitch chirping noise( almost like a belt moving). It doesn't try and turn over. All I get is a clicking noise. Where do I start with the trouble shooting?

Do a voltage drop check across all of your connections for the battery, solenoid and starter. Also do a battery load test. If all are good, you may have a bad starter. I don't know what the noise is.

Sounds like a bad battery, but another possibility is the solenoid. You can jump across the solenoid with a screwdriver to see if it will turn over.

The "clicking" sound in probably the solenoid. Low voltage will cause the solenoid click rapidly. I would try a good battery first, then a solenoid.
