Last day out...

Last day out, even the wife came along!
Anyone else store their car away yet?
And how depressed are you?

Not my 68 coupe but my Shelby is heading into the garage for a long winter nap.

My 68 needs to be redone and I will be buying parts over the winter and start on her in the spring.

Is that an 8? Or 6? What are u planning to do this winter? Mods...

I'm planning a good clean up in motor bay, an aluminum intake for my 390 and some interior work to stop some of the rattles.

1968 coupe I have had it for 35 years third owner. The cars only has 52000 or so miles it. I will be doing a ground up restoration on her starting in spring it will take about a year to finish.

I'd love to keep mine out a little longer but my licence plate has to be paid at the end of the month....so I figured I would save 350$ and buy some extra goodies for the car instead ! Lol

A little restomod I want front disk brakes, and AC other then that it is original. I will replace all the bearings and bushings etc just because it is apart other then that OEM. I will be posting pictures of my progress as I go along.

That's sounds great, I think it's tricky to get these cars to run like new ones and not go over board on aftermarket parts to a point where they loose their old school feel, if I can call it that.

I'm trying to go a little restomod on mine but also trying to maintain what makes it a 60's authentic muscle car. Can't wait to see what you do to your coupe!

Put my 66 up on a lift & am in the middle of redoing the whole front end. Planning on driving it one more time, home from the shop. Hope the snow holds off till then.

New springs, shocks, control arms, sway bar, links, etc. . Brakes are next. But that won't happen till it warms up a bit in the spring. Still have the original drums on the front. Not sure exactly what direction to go, other than upgrading them to power brakes. Any suggestions that won't brake the bank?

Hey red, I went with a 4piston setup in front, pretty much what a 67gt came with. If you want to go a little crazy and not spend too much you can get a bracket kit from "mustang Steve" either for 13" 95 cobra break kit and/or the kit they sell for I think 2010 and up gt mustang break kit. Those might be easier to find at a scrap yard. I have an extra kit for the 13" setup and it was about 230ish $ I think. But you automatically have to go for 17"rims and tires no matter what. But using those kits from mustang Steve, you can keep your original spindles.

Great. Thanks. I can't decide if I want discs a the way around. Or, just the fronts. The only thing I'm sure about is a 2 bowl master cylinder.

My poor '66 "Oliver" is tucked away in the garage. Has been since September when I finally stopped using it as a daily driver to start tearing it down. Poor car needs a complete resto (floors, quarters, fenders, hood, valances, door corners, right rear frame rail).

The 05 is my daily (even through the Pennsylvania winter), so now it's just making sure everything is in good working order (rear defroster isn't). lol
