Trans Magnet

Hey guys, I'm cleaning up my trans pan, an was wondering if a magnet in the trans pan is something I should do. All my DDs have had one, but my mustang doesn't. Looking around, I can't find much info on first gen stangs having magnets in the trans pan.

If so, what kind/size magnet should I go for, and were in the pan?

It's a 67 with a 302, but it's actually an FMX trans. Thanks!

I think any magnet would would but there isn't a way for it to stay put like in all the pans with a magnet in it iv seen a little dimple in the pan and the the magnet is a doughnut I'm not sure if that matters though

Good point. Well my gasket and pan came in today. I think I'll skip putting a magnet in there. Thanks!

If you use a rare earth magnet it should be fine. They are super strong and wouldn't move.
