68 Disk Brake Converision

Howdy All I know there are aftermarket kits out there. What I want to know what other Ford cars can I get a FE from that would bolt up to my 68 coupe that would give me disk brakes? I seem to remember the Maverick but I am not finding the information. Thanks Mike

I am pretty sure the Maverick will bolt right up. I think there is another also but my memory is failing me at the moment.

The Granada for sure, my father did it to his 65, which is the same as your 68.

I was thinking about doing that to see the difference in price between aftermarket and OEM Granada parts.

Not trying to hijack this thread. What all would I need from a granada or junk vehicle? I am interested in doing the disc conversion on my 67. The aftermarket kits are all pretty expensive for me

Rotors - 49.99
Calipers -19.99 with a 20.00 core
Brake pads- 14.99
Wheel seals- 3.99
Front outer bearings 7.99
Front inner bearings 7.99
Dust caps 3.99
Master cylinder 31.99 with a 25.00 core

Only thing i couldnt find was the caliper brackets and hoses from hard line to caliper

So total for everything with cores with ca tax is 326.85

Without cores with ca tax is 256.00

Don't you need to change the front spindles?

I thought you had to replace the spindles also. I have a lead on an 82 Granada complete with power front brakes everything is there. I might just have to buy it strip it and send it to the bone yard. Just what the neighbors wanted another none running car in my driveway. Next a couch in my yard and I will feel right at home

Awesome, thanks for the info. I will look into that. A kit just seems easier but I cannot and will not pay over 400 for it. Might be out of luck though. Good luck with yours!
