Luckily I had the mixture correct, nice thing about this epoxy primer is 1/1 , I was just lacking the air. Best way to learn what not to do tho! I'm excited about trying some more spray!

Not much progress today, was cleaning out the garage...
And while doing so came across my trunk lid hinges ,so decided to clean those up and prime for reinstallation..one less thing to store in the garage and one more part on the car..a win win !

68' Project Progress

So I wanted to put my trunk lid hinges & torsion rods back in the car today. The only problem is when I moved them to start sanding and priming the torsion rod assembly flew apart, while I was standing over the top of it, No injury, LOL! And apparently I took No pics of what it looked like before. I start reading articles and looking for pics and everything I read says what a PIA these are to reinstall, need two people, need special spring tool!! So naturally I expect the worst. I go out to the car with some pics I found online and 5 mins later, with only my hands ( no spring tool) Taaaaadaaa!!!! I don't get it, What's the big deal???

Nice. At least you got it. I was looking at mine today too. At least on the 70's, there is a circular spring attached to the hinge itself. Just attach it with 4 bolts and away you go!

They're 3 notches on the hinge for tension adjustment , I assume. I will say if I have to move them to the 2nd or 3rd notch it's gonna be a bit more challenging, just glad they went in easy. I looked back thru my IPad photos and found some pics of trunk that showed where they were mounted and they were in the notch closest to the back seat.

68' Project Progress

I had rust in the back window on my Impala, but not that bad. It looks good!
Luckily my Challenger's window frames were in good shape, but the rest of the body was/is yuck. It's getting there.
Your car looks like it's coming along nicely. I look forward to seeing it finished. Good luck!

LOL, don't worry, I've got some more other places..I'm trying really hard to make time to work on it. Just when I think I'll be able to something else comes up that needs attention, oh well, I keep telling myself each thing I do is one step closer to the finish. No matter how small..

Think of it this way, if you got it all done right away there wouldn't be any more projects to work on!
