Some 68's came with a separate shoulder belt that bolted to the roof and was completely separate from the lap belt. When not in use it folded up along the roofline.

I know in 67 shoulder belts were an option...weren't they federally mandated for 68 (along with the front and rear fender reflectors and collapsible steering column)?

...I'm talking front shoulder belts. Back in the day, my mom had a 1980 ford escort with only lap belts in the rear seats.

I got a pair of 4 point harnesses from ebay they work pretty good. They just have the regular seat belt buckle
