Headers

I'm hoping that maybe some of y'all will be able to help me or have any ideas. I was putting on my new headers on my 68 tonight and every them was fine on the passengers side and I went to put on the drivers side got it bolted up and realized that the front two spark plugs were extremely close if not touching the headers. It a 302 motor with gt40p heads with hedman shorty headers. Click image for larger version

Take a white marker and mark the headers where the plugs are. Take the headers off and hold a piece of wood over the white marks and hit it with a hammer to bend them out of the way.

Are these headers made for the 40P heads or the 302 heads? If you can return them and get the correct set would be the best thing if not slam away.

They were made for a 68 mustang. I got them from summit so I should be able to return them. I just wasn't sure if the headers for a gt40p heads would clear correctly

Summit is just down the street from me. Anyway give them a call and talk to their tech support and get the right set. You will need them for the GT40 heads so the plugs will clear. This is a popular mod so they should have a solution for this.
