Planning on buying '69 project car

Hey guys I was planning on getting a 1969 mustang, either a mach 1 or just a regular sportsroof. I was wondering which is more common to find and which is less costly? Also I intend to make some performance modifications along with visual modifications.

I think a Mach 1 would be pretty damn cool, but that's only my opinion, I don't know what would be the recommended one to buy haha

It would probably be a good idea to see which car is more common because finding parts would be easier and probably cheaper, but honestly you should do what your heart wants.

Current stage of my rust free 69 Mach 1. I paid $12,250 last year for it. If you're looking for a mustang and on a tight budget I suggest a 65-68. Parts are much cheaper for everything on the car. I've redone both so talking from experience.

That's some good advice, but I've got my mind fixed on a '69. Anything else you can tell me?

I would go with the a regular fastback then and use the extra money on parts if you're gonna mod it. No point in spending the extra cash on a Mach just to change everything on it.

Yea that's a good point, are the regular fastbacks more common than the mach ones? I thought that ford made more mach ones then regular fastbacks.

I've been looking at local online classified websites, my search doesn't restrain me to my area, I can most likely search for one in the southern states so I can get a rust free one.
