Get the lead out

well I am about to start the restore on my 68 coupe. It is a bone stock car that has only been painted once by the owner before me (crappy job). The passenger side rear quarter needs to have the skin replaced because it was hit a long time ago (1993 then parked). What I need to know is, between the quarter and the roof line there is lead there to make the body line.
How do I get the lead out of there so I can cut the quarter out.
After I get it replaced how do I relead it?
I know heat will do it but how do I collect it to reuse it?

Thanks

Just let it run out on the floor and sweep it up, as far as re-leading goes, just use high strength filler. I wanted to learn how to lead on my car untill I realized how incredibly difficult it is.
