Howdy boring an engine, higher compression pistons, better cam. Are all good starts to getting more power. The question is what do you really want to do with the car in the end.
Keep it as close to stock and get more pull out of it?

Forget stock and just want speed and power?

The 200 in these cars was a good little engine and really didn't have that many problems. I am not sure how much more power you can get out of them but I bet if you look around and have a Plan to follow you will get there.

I will say sit down and figure out what you want then start making a plan to get there and ask along the way and it will work out for ya.

I've been down this road and am happy with my results, but I don't have a race car! You can improve the performance considerably, but it is not cheap. You will spend more to do a proper V8 swap, but you could save money with a cheap used V8. Go to www.classicinlines.com for everything you need. My car runs good now and sounds even better, but it's not on par with a modified small block by any means. I did not get the aluminum head, which could make a huge difference, though
