So much to reply to! I want to take some welding classes too. Of course since my car is done I'd have to get another one to work on.... I have pixies of my car when it looked like that in the shop. Scary times unless you know what you're doing I guess. Good job taking the classes!

The funny thing about the other student in this class is they are all Chevy people. I don't know how many times I heard Found On Road Dead. I would just ask were their car was and why didn't they bring it in to work on. Then I would hear I don't have one or the better one was I can not move it right now because the frame is rusted in two and I have to find a new one.

Good work. And cool that you get to have hands-on training on your own car!

Thats pretty sweet! But what the hell happened to your quarter? Haha why are all those squares cut in it? Are you doing a full quarter or just a skin?

This is the most asked question I get. picture driving home from working mid shift stop at a red light and have a woman in a truck not putting on makeup hit your right rear quarter and her wearing lipstick from her mouth to her ear. That is what happened to my quarter. I parked the car then and it seems a young sailor with three girls all in or near high school age does not have the money to fix it. The car was moved on a trailer from Dallas to Memphis to north of Seattle over the years that followed. At one point I was offered enough cash for it that I almost sold it when the LOML said NO. Last year I brought it back from Seattle (it was stored at my brother house and started once a month) to Cleveland so I could start the process of restoring it. So now the squares in the QTR. Well it is pretty simple I didn't have any scrap steel laying around to practice welding on and I wanted to practice on the same gauge steel as the car, I already had a new QTR skin so I decided to cut a few patches out of the old one to practice on. I did such a lousy job I took a course to learn what I forgot.
