Interior reassembly update...

Just wanna share a few pics of my interior reassembly. Panels have been trimmed for the cage ( huge pain in the rear!! ). Battery relocated behind the passenger seat. Sound system is rocking! I ended up hiding the rear speakers behind the back vent panels. Got power to my temp gauge, courtesy light are working. Have a few paint touch-ups to the panels to do and my leather seats need to drop in. Click image for larger version

Good work. I was thinking about hiding speakers in those vents - does the "grille" part still fit over it?

Ya it does, but you have to play around with the screws that tie down the exterior part of the vent and try and find the thinnest 6x9's possible. I have a custom autosound stereo and kenwood speakers all around.

The screws I'm talking about tend to touch the centre part of the speaker (magnet).

I'll look at that when I get that far, thanks. I was considering fabricating new "vents" without the thumb slides out of aluminum, mimicking the metal-looking portion all the way across the vent area. It would be an interesting touch, and look pretty clean. I have access to a machine shop I can play in if necessary. But that's step 8,294 and I'm only on step 32.

Lol...I think I'm at step 33! And yes, I would have to find a clean solution behind the empty space where the slider used to be. I thought about just attaching a aluminum plate on the inside of the panel and just closing that space up. I'm more worried about trouble shooting my cluster gauges that aren't all working. At least my tach and temp work.

So my gauges are back in, dash is on and I started setting up my steering wheel. I tested the horn and all I'm getting is a wining noise coming out of the steering column.

You guys ever deal with this issue before?? Not sure if there's a relay somewhere that's part of the horn wiring....

So guys...anyone got any feedback for my horn wining issue? It's the only thing that's left for my int. elect. to finish up.

Some good info here on how the horns work. No relay just 12V's to them.

Where's The Horn RELAY ???? - Vintage Mustang Forums

No kidding..."no relay" I was pressing the horn and trying to find out where the buzzing noise came from. This is what I found. So I'm assuming I can just take it off and get a direct connection? I took it out and just touched the wires and pressed the horn...and TA DA!! It works. Click image for larger version

Thanks Mlarv5. I just read the other blog about the horn. So glad my horn is working now! Just sucks to have everything reassembled and have to take all kinds of things apart again just for a dumb relay. Thank god I knew exactly where that one was located.

I can actually sit in my car again!! It's a little tight between the driver seat and steering, might get a quick release adapter. Maybe later on drop the seats a little lower.Click image for larger version
