Now I have fog lights

Now I have fog lights. And it was easy. My wife likes chrome and fog lights (even on the minivan.) So I asked for them for father's day and voila! Ok, I still have to install the harness but it looks like a piece of cake.

It's not difficult to wire, just time consuming. I had to make this plug to get through the firewall. There is a hole above the headlight harness connector behind the master cylinder but it is 3/4". The wire has a grommet built in but it is for a 7/16" hole. So I bought a plug for a 3/4" and put the 7/16" hole in it.

Cool. I will have the entire firewall cleaned off so it should not be to hard to wire. I am doing a complete restore so this the time to do any mod's needed.

Yeah when I had my engine or a couple of years ago I really wanted to clean it all up but didn't. One of these winters I'll do that. Between the aftermarket air conditioner, power brake conversion and throttle cable conversion, I have allot to clean up!

They're a lot of fun because they are simple and if you have some ability you can do upgrades like this.

I've read in only a couple of places that the grille was blacked out if you had fog lights from the factory on a '66. Can anyone with a car that originally had them comment? I know there was a recent Mustang Monthly article that says that, but I only find that one other place. Most pictures I see online are not close up enough for me to see if it's blacked out, or they clearly are not. With the bright horizontal bars there is an inconvenient reference point that makes it look like the bars droop but they are straight. Thanks in advance.

I'm sure it's hard to tell the difference in pictures but I went ahead and did it. I saw a K code GT Sunday and it was blacked out so I did it. This Sunday I will be at a huge Mustang show so I will have plenty of references I'm sure
