Looking good, I would guess a trip meter should be attainable, if not new then ebay maybe. I'd be in trouble if CJPP were in driving distance

FYI

https://www.mustangsunlimited.com/default.asp

MustangsUnlimited has had free shipping for a very long time. Unless is is truck freight. But I buy everything from them and haven't paid shipping in a long time. Also, if you buy all of your big stuff together, eg. hood, quarters, doors or whatever, they only charge 1 freight fee. Lots of savings.

And they have 10% off now.

Got the cluster done for the most part. Still working on the best course of action with the trip gauge. Either getting it restored or taking a trip to the salvage yard and pulling a new one.

Metal work has finally gotten under way. My neighbor and I took about 5 hours the other day and got both frame rails on. Luckily the torque boxes were solid and everything up to the bend was good. Mostly the frame under the trunk and rear seat needed replaced. Got both sides in before the Argon ran out. Should have a good bit of the rear buttoned up this weekend! Memories. Glad I can say that I'm done with that part lol.

Looks like the gage cleaned up really good.

Keep up the good work!

Yeah. It'll be a good day when this metal work is done haha. But I lucked out on the gauges. They were surprisingly super clean to begin with! Just needed touched up

Looking good! Just heard back from the guy doing the media blasting on an original driver's door I picked up for my '69 Camaro resto project...sadly, the bottom of the door looks like swiss cheese after blasting. Guess I'll have to focus on fixing up the original on the car.

Fortunately the piece of nice window glass + regulator coming out of the donor door is worth at least what I paid for the whole door, so not a huge loss.

Came home tonight and my neighbor had done some unexpected work on the Mach. We have a rear! Everything is pretty much just clamped and screwed into place right now until it all gets lined up. So happy with these results. Almost all of the metal is Dynacorn and let me tell you, it's incredible. Spot on fitment, and thicker gauge than factory in most cases. Will post some better pictures tomorrow when there's light. Click image for larger version

72 Mach 1 Restoration.

That neighbor deserves a test drive when it's done.

Every day is a joyride.

So its been about 2 months since I last posted. We got a few things done progress has been slow, I had an engine go out in one of my trucks and the wheel bearings/sway bar links out of another one and that took up some time. I got the rear end painted and ready to assemble. I have the AMK body and chassis bolt kits on their way and I'll have it buttoned up and ready to go. The passenger side rear is done, all thats left to do is fit and weld the actual quarter panel on. All interior has been welded, sealed, and painted. We also got the front hood cowl welded in place. Those Dynacorn pieces have zero room for error, glad I didn't cheap out on em haha.

I've been using the VHT chassis/suspension paint from Autozone and I have to say that I'm impressed. The rear axle came out very smooth and much better than I expected. We've also been using it as a black undercoat on a good portion of parts that won't be seen to give it an extra layer of protection from rust. Never thought a spray can would touch this car haha. Hoping to have the other side wheel well done, and the bottom undercoated with frame paint within the next two weeks or so and then we'll get the rear axle put under it. Getting closer to having a rolling chassis! Click image for larger version
