You know Ford already has the Ford GT, that's Ford's answer. Then you might say price. Do you think that crappy chevy is going to be cheap. I would say atleast 100 G's easy.

Not liking it. Too many styling cues from other cars...namely, it looks like a corv-iper. Not too keen on it. I will still with my little pony car and let the 50+ year olds baby thier mid life crisis vettes around. At least, that is what 95% of all vette owners I see are...either 50+ or a stripper. :pancake:

isnt the 06/07 cobra supposed to be under $50k and a corvette killer? anyway, like i've said before, i dont like the new corvettes, they look like the unfortunate love child of a viper and a ferrari that was adopted by chevy.

The the Z06 is around 60k not 120k like the GT

Sorry Chevy wins this round at least the Vette is a closer chance to actually own compared to the GT

I would love to have that car. I would take in a heartbeat. I think it looks awesome and plus, its got a 427 in it. Who wouldnt want that in your basement. I agree with bluemustang the vette will be about 60-70 g's not even close to 120 g's plus I think the vette looks way better than the gt. I'm not really all that crazy about the gt especially the interior it looks cheap to me. Ok I went and looked at the interior pic and its mainly the seats that look cheap. I'd still take the vette over the gt.

Id take the GT over the vett. Chevy can't be original. I don't like the way it looks at all. I say chevey needs to quit copying and do a retro look ala the 70s stingrays.

I like the Z06 Corvette. I like the body style. I like the 427 engine. I do see some similarities on the headlights with the Viper but most cars now ahve similar looking fronts. The interior is simply excellent. The Ford GT is a nice race car but for real world driving I would take the Vette.

Oh with Ford closing the SVT division the Cobra will not happen unless it is brought out by Saleen or Roush which will make it a very expensive mustang to own!!!

Well n8r from what I saw on tv they did an interview on the 05 stang and the c6 vette. Thats all they talked about was how the stang is retro, and how chevy went retro with the new vette. Giving it some cues from the older vettes.

They haven't closed down SVT....yet. It is one of the ideas those morons are throwing around, but it is still open for business. They did shut down the Lightning division and put everyone over on the Cobra project. Like you said, rumor has it that they are thinking about having Cobras produced by Saleen though, which I think would suck. And I agree, the price would get retarded just like the Saleens are now.

My thoughts are, that if they do drop the SVT division, there are going to be a whole lot of not so happy customers that will end up jumping ship over to Chevy. Hell, there are already a lot of Cobra owners that are looking at trading in on the C6. Good for those wanting a used Cobra, but bad for Ford.

And to get back on topic, I still aint feeling the C6. It just doesn't appeal to me at all.

maybe the current Z06 is 60K, but I'm sure that 2006 one won't even be close to that price. Did you read the specs. Titianium this and titianium that, all aluminum block.

In 69 the aluminum 427's came in the ZL-1 Camaro and ZL-1 Corvette The motor puts out an estimated 525hp.

Suggested retail price is listed as 60-65k.

Id honestly take this z06 in a heartbeat who doesnt want that bad boy 427.

I dont like chevys minus the Bel Air but im telling you this vette right here is flat out nasty.

Cobra what?

As someone just mentioned people will be trading i their 03/04s for the C6 or Z06 and you know what im gonna be right behind them people picking up their cobra. Cause you know thos cobras are gonna go very decently low priced.

Well, there is always one in the crowd.

But the question is, do you only drive around at the speed limit (usually less) in your stang, or do you get on it once in a while? That is the key here.

and ford is being original by making a modern clone of a car they built how many years ago?

it would be like ford taking a 65 stang, updating the suspension, adding an EFI 4.6, and calling it original...

The 05 Gt is a mustang.. not a crossbreed between a viper, ferrari and little pieces of corvette here and there

The 05Gt is original. Ford Made the 1965 Mustang.

Chevy didnt make the Viper or Ferrari but you can see pieces of each car in the vette

i was more refering to the ford GT rather than the 05 GT, and im glad the 05 GT is original because it looks like **** in my opinion, seems too playskool like

ford has never really competed as far as speed goes with gm.... ford just out sales them eleventy billion to one... if gm started to sale more cars ford would get on the performance wagon more.
