Just drove a new Ford Fiesta

So I did a little research and found out they were doing test drives today at the park downtown today so I went and checked the car out.

This is the one i drove today, with a 5 speed. I must say it is one of the best small cars that I have drove recently, which so far had been my girlfriends 2009 Mazda 3 and a Pontiac Vibes. I was a bit embarrassed backing up. The car was parked on a slope and when I was backing up I wasn't moving. I thought I missed the reverse gear but it turned out I wasn't giving it enought gas. It's not 4.6 V8 but it felt like the car and a good amount of power for the size. Now it is bias but I put this car way ahead of the Yaris and Fit. And check out that beast

Re: Just drove a new Ford Fiesta

I didn't know if anyone was going to respond to this. This car may not be full of thrills but it is an important car for Fords future. They will offer a performance model in Europe that will make 200hp. Anyways look at the fun you can have in it

Top Gear is usually pretty hit or miss with me, but I'm glad I stuck it out for that one....4:10 onwards is ****ing hilarious.

The would make for a SICK fun autox course...instead of a 2 sec penlty for hitting cones, you get a 2 second penalty for hitting a manequin...and it's a DNF if you crash through the front of a store...

not a fan of hatchbacks, but i have to admit, driving a small(er) car is nice sometimes... actually.. scratch that.. A LOT in the city. with that said, i think ford could use some more smaller vehicles over here in the US. i think the focus could use a companion.

I completely agree with you. Given nothing beats having the raw power of a v8, but if you do a lot of city driving with tight spaces and lots of turns. A small car matched with a 5spd can be a blast.

Re: Just drove a new Ford Fiesta

LOL @ Top Gear. That guy is a champ driver.. I love how it powers through the 2 feet deep water though. Seriously.. if you've ever driven a car through that deep of water you know what I mean.

Re: Just drove a new Ford Fiesta

My experience is that it pushes you exactly where you don't want to go. The second day I had my Mustang, I drove through what was essentially a river about a foot deep on the road. I thought I tore my front fascia off.

Also, you have to think that car had water over the hood, which means it was probably in the airbox.

Re: Just drove a new Ford Fiesta

I didn't mean too, strangely enough. It was puddle, or car next to me, and I expected the puddle to not be a foot or more deep. Lol.

Yeah and a flippin Diesel Excursion at that. Why would you buy a work (and by work I mean construction) truck/SUV to tote kids around in when something one step down, or hell, two steps down, still does it exceedingly well...without the hassle of diesel?

I want to know who let them race in the mall. That would never happen in the U.S.
