Looks real clean...always liked the stingrays, all the ones up here for sale are garbage.

Is that a 327?

color me jealous. I'd love a Stingray to rebuild whenever I get some time and a place to do it.

Re: new family member (vette)

Looks like a nice clean project!

I've always wondered who designed those years though.. While I'm not complaining about your car, I have to wonder where the hell they were trying to go with the design on that car.. IMO they took the early 70s vette and went backwards a few steps adding in more curves and a higher skirt..

Nice find, though!

Not with a numbers matching car.

I have a complete LS2 drivetrain out of an 02 SS camaro. but I can't pull apart a matching #s car. I think I'm gonna try to find an '80 Z28 to stuff between the fenders.

Cool. Quick question, how do you think my 03 v6 would run against it. I only ask because last summer an older guy wanted to race me in his stingray, and I'm pretty sure it was an L82 with the auto...I didn't race him...too busy of a street, plus tickets and insurance are already my enemies, lol.

Numbers matching on L82 cars are worth about as much as numbers matching on V6 Mustangs or Camaros. Most people would rather have a more substantial power plant. You could always hold on to the original engine, too.

If it came out of an '02 Camaro, it's an LS1.

I know that it's not worth anymore being numbers matching, but I like it that way.

you are correct. I meant LS6 as it's still a 5.7L. I'm all for putting the LS drivetrain in the car, but it's going to my dad and that's what he wants.

If I had my way. I'd build the 454 thats in my garage to put in it. nothing like having a torque monster under the hood.
