cleaning heads

I'm getting some gm heads planed probably this or next week I"m gonna have the guy check and see if anything needs to be replaced and I don't want to get screwed. He's charging 25 bucks a head for planing. If he has to dissasemble and clean the heads how much is to much?

Re: cleaning heads

hmm i would assume it depends on how much crap comes off, I would inspect the valve seals if he takes it apart, no need to use bad ones. Same goes for anything thats cheap to replace (lashes etc)

Re: cleaning heads

I know for sure he's taking the valves out so i guess it wouldn't cost much to replace the seals?

Re: cleaning heads

I paid a machine shop 100 a head to disassemble, clean, shot peen, and crack check. Assembly was included as well. Ended up having them replace two valves in the process as well.
