Good 275/40 17 tires?

Tire time is coming up again before too long. I need a 275/40 for a 17" wheel. I'd like for them to get excellent tread life and hook like a wrinklewall . No, not really. Hook isn't as important as tread life, to me, but it's definitely a bonus. I've got Goodyear Eagle F1's on there now and they give me decent traction (2.0 60's), but they cost too much for the low tread life. I've got ET Street Radials for the track, so I'm not really that concerned with traction (except I do find myself engaged in a light-to-light every now and again). Anybody got a suggestion?

Re: Good 275/40 17 tires?

I was happy with my 275 Nittos on my GT. I had plenty of miles on them (about 30 or so k) with about 70% or so tread life left. Plus, in 275 17, they are only 149 each...good wet traction too.

yokahoma avs es100s are good but not amazing in the traction department. I managed 40-45k out of a set and I am on my second set.

Re: Good 275/40 17 tires?

I had yoko's and they didn't last long at all. They were a pretty good tire for the price but i wore them out in about 18k. I have Falken Ziex ZE-512 in that size and i really like them so far and they're cheap, $108 a piece on Discount Tire, Custom Wheels, Truck & Car Rims | Discount Tire Co..
