MGW shifter vs Pro 5.0

I'm thinking about replacing my old Hurst shifter with something newer. I'm looking at both the Pro 5.0 and the MGW brand. Anyone have feedback on either? Is it worth comparing the two or should I just go with the Pro 5.0? Or the MGW? Thanks in advance!

Well I have heard good reviews on both, but I am going to go with MGW I believe that theirs shifts smoother and the reach is better. I am really impressed with the products that MGW is putting out....

I've heard really good things about the Pro 5.0. I myself installed the Steeda Tri-Ax in mine, but I haven't had the chance to drive it since the install, so I can't even give you feedback on that one lol.

Thanks for the replies. MGW also offers a dust boot which I like.

Which is a better short throw shifter?

Here is a thread full of opinions on short throw shifters. It is also the 2nd most epic thread since i've joined the forum besides this of course.

Re: MGW shifter vs Pro 5.0

the tri-axe is stiff for a daily driver, I think I remember spectorV having a MGW at one time and I did really like it.

I like the Pro 5.0 personally. The 2nd to 3rd feels much nicer in the Pro 5.0 in my opinion. I've had both the Pro 5.0 and MGW in my 5.0 for extended periods of time too, so this isn't just based on a quick test drive or something.
