Thinking about buying an 06 F150...

...but, I'm scared of the known issues with the 5.4L Triton.

I'm looking at an 06 F150 FX4 with the 5.4L V8 with 43k miles.

The injector issue is my biggest problem...I'd hate to buy it and 2 weeks later have one or more of the injectors mess up and Ford not wanting to cover the repair.

Anyone know if these issues are common? Anyone with any experience...was an extended warranty or something offered for the injectors for those years?

Any opinions/comments about the truck's quality/reliability/mpg's would be appreciated as well.

I know at my old job we had several 5.4 trucks. All of them developed the issue...but they were all repaired under fleet warranty. Not 100% sure how it works normally.

Well the 5.4 is a durable motor and can take quite a bit of abuse however fords 4 wheel drive system leaves alot to be desired. My 99 chevy walks right over them. I have a posi rear end and posi front too. If I get it stuck I need a bulldozer to get out. I haven't gotten er stuck yet and I have driven in some hellacious winter blizzards and knee deep mud. Jmo
