Non Mustang Question

Im working on a 97 Cougar and I somehow lost one of the thermostat housing bolts
Where can I get another one?
I've checked auto parts stores but they say they cant get it and to try a hardware store but they said that I have to order it...I've been looking online and I cant find anything
Any suggestions???

Is it some type of special bolt? Probably metric. Should be able to match up threads and length at home depot.

Matching it up should be no problem at a home improvement store or napa. The head might not be the same but thread and length is all that really matter. Replace all of them if your concerned with not matching.

Ok, I forgot about checking napa

Re: Non Mustang Question

That's exactly what you need to do. You can do this with any bolt anywhere... just need to becareful and get correct strengths of bolts for specific applications. The Thermostat housing can just be any bolt.

Would a local ford dealer maybe even have them in stock I would hope they have not changed them to much from then to now to much or at all.

Re: Non Mustang Question

Since this is regarding the same car I thought I should ask my question here:

How do I replace the fuel pump and fuel filter on a 97 Cougar??
