Acetone in gas tank

Anyone have any info on this subject? I hear it improves gas mileage due to improved fuel vaporization so there is less wasted fuel. I don't think I'm going to try it because I'm sure there would be a possibility of engine/fuel system damage? Anyone ever tried it?

Re: Acetone in gas tank

I've never heard of that, but I have heard of kerosene in the crank case for loosening stuck valve tappets.

I think the acetone would eventually start to melt all your rubber o rings and any rubber lines you got in your fuel system!
