70 on the practice test is decent. 50 and above places you in the "smart" category. I had a 78 and choice of jobs even back in 1992...decided to take Air Traffic Control....good job but I changed after two years for something with a little more excitement...
I've been in almost 20 now...just as you're trying to figure our what you wanna do in the military, I'm trying to figure out what I wanna do when I get out! Its a good life if you do it right...but it goes by real quick...

My Mom use to be a senior manager at FedEx. You were working for the wrong station because my mom always took care of her employees. She hasn't worked there in over ten years and people still respect her or have heard about her. I would say go to the Brown (UPS) but you know they are always having strikes and what not. But just like FedEx you can make good money just handling the packages for the Brown. Some of them hire outside people now to help deliver packages and things. Maybe you could look into that?

That's when I realized just how rare a qualified recruit was...more people fail than pass. I had 4 high schools and 1 college to recruit from...more people failed than passed.

The practice test score is all math and English...a 31 represents an intelligent person that received a below average educational opportunity. Those guys usually score high in mechanical ability...and can get some real good jobs.

In my experience, the folks that scored high were interested in mentally and physically challenging training and jobs...ranger, SF, etc.

Basically, I am trying to say that truly the best of the best serve our country...sure some make it through but they get weeded out early or eventually stop progressing...

Don't sell the service member short that scores low on the test...he or she may not have had the best up bringing or education but they could very well save a life and be excellent leaders given the opportunity. I think others on here will agree...so there's your first lesson in leadership...don't judge a book by it's cover and maximize your resources...EVERYONE is an important part of a team.

I've been getting my hands dirty with oil since who knows when so the mechanical part is no problem and ive always liked a challenge

I think I'd go self employed just to get away from the office coffee around here. Eep!

If you are THAT into coffee, you need to visit the Pac NW sometime. People up here pride ourselves on good coffee, outstanding beer, and copious amounts of body hair.

Underground Seattle, Jimi Hendrix's Grave, and The Experience Mysice Museum are better.

We have the Mariners & the Seahawks. I don't talk about Washington teams in sports.. It's just not worth putting a target on myself and everyone laughing hysterically when mentioning Washington sports teams. Like asking, "How bout those Clippers?"
