Lol...you speak the truth...no real way to prepare except to expect to be challenged in every aspect.

Haha yeah you know what I'm talkin about, Pete.

I was only in for a few years but basic training in 2003 (infantry osut @ benning) is something I will never forget. I had a long time to prepare, and I sluffed off the last 3 months and paid for it like hell!

I went through in 92...and OSUT didn't even come close to my first duty station. I was 19 years old...flack vest and sandbag pt, running kolekole pass, and 30 mile forced marches...it's different now. 9/11 changed the way we train, but it's still intense. Lots of stress and more responsibility placed on younger troops these days...

The tough training comes after basic.

Salute, mayne. If you ever get shipped up to the PAC NW, I'll buy you a beer. It's the least I can do for serving my country.

Master at Arms School? Good stuff...you'll spend lots of time with Army personnel. Don't worry...we don't hate. You'll enjoy it.

What did you do before that? I was in the Infantry (3/7 Inf, 3rd Infantry Div) from 03-07.

I'm a little biased too... dude why Navy? You'll be able to see your underwear through your pants, you are stuck in the water for months at a time, you move around A LOT. Quality of life, my friend. Quality of life.

Well it's in my blood now. Plus I'm not a big fan of being shipped to Afghanistan or Iraq or wherever. Navy I'll either be home on ships or base or be over seas on a ship. Plus i love the water
