Re: another oil question/filter

Should be a good filter. It's made by Champ labs and it's the same company that makes the K&N and Mobile 1 oil filters

Re: another oil question/filter

ford motorcraft filter is one of the best for the money and will work just fine with royal purple. The issue is you must change the filter every 3k or so even if the oil goes longer... the filter may go a bit longer for sure but it will have to be changed more so than the oil, this is true for all oil filters when oil goes so long

Well I had it changed at ford. And of course they sell motorcraft but from what I read online the k and n filter is a good filter to use with royal purple. So I went with it lol. So far so good. Altho ford put on my sticker to change a 4000 miles. How long should I go on an oil change with the RP and its my daily driver, mostly city miles. And I have to change my filter every 3k? Im a girl....Im still learning Haha

Re: another oil question/filter

With Royal Purple you should be able to go much farther than 4k, the trick is finding out based on where/how you drive how long it can go. You can have the oil tested to find this out easily enough and its cheap. That might be what you need to do then you can correctly let it go 10k if it can.

I change mine once a year and use Mobile 1. You may also wish to consider Amsoil oil as its probably the BEST on the market. I use OEM ford filter which is VERY good. The issue is the oil filter can only filter so much, you may can just change the filter and not the oil as well.

I think 4-6k then change it, keep some oil to have tested. They can tell you that you has more life left in the oil or not.

Ok sweet! Thanks for the info. I might have to find out where to send it off too! If anyone knows please chime in. Maybe ford service would know. I don't drive it hard all the time but it is a V8 and sometimes its hard to keep my foot out of her lol.
